In December 2023 at the annual profit-sharing meeting and lunch, The Quality Castings Company inducted three employees into the 25 Year Club. The 25 Year Club includes all employees and retirees employed at the Company for at least 25 years. The current Club has 116 members, including the new inductees, all hired in 1998:
Angel Torres began his career in the cleaning room under Jarvie Wallace. Rumor has it, Angel let Jarvie cut his 80s style hair off when Jarvie was retiring. In return, Angel became the proud owner of Jarvie’s red hard hat, which can still be seen around QC! Angel currently works in the shipping department.
Dontay Jenkins, our resident Dallas Cowboys fan, could run the 722 mold machine in his sleep. That machine was taken out of service on January 1, 2024 and Dontay is now working in the Company’s paint shop. Dontay is known for sharing the daily restaurant specials from all the way from Akron to Canton.
Garry Chewning, our hog riding second shift molding supervisor, enjoys riding his bike with his brothers all over the country. Garry loved the feel of the wind in his hair until he recently cut it, making a donation to the non-profit organization Locks of Love.
